Dear Friends,
Now celebrating its 29th season, the Orlando Shakespeare
Theater in Partnership with UCF continues to create
remarkable theaterical experiences. Over the years, the
unique alliance between the Shakespeare Theater and the
University of Central Florida has established a tradition
of memorable performances, along with high-quality
education for a new generation of theater artists.
The partnership between our two organizations is strong.
Many of the artists working at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater are UCF students,
faculty, and alumni. From the stage to the office, proud Knights contribute to the
premier professional theater in our region.
A novel aspect of our collaboration is the participation of UCF theater student’s in
PlayFest. Presented by Harriett’s Charitable Trust, PlayFest is the Shakespeare
Theater’s annual new play festival. Performing alongside professional actors and
nationally recognized playwrights, our students receive on-stage experience that
develops their talent and advances their careers.
UCF is America’s Leading Partnership University. One of our most engaging
collaborations is the Annual UCF Celebrates the Arts Festival at the Dr. Phillips
Center for the Performing Arts. For the fourth year this spring, the Festival will
feature the Shakespeare Theater and showcase our mutual commitment to the
Central Florida arts community.
Thank you for your continued support of the Orlando Shakespeare Theater in
Partnership with UCF. Here’s to a sensational 29th season!
Cordially yours,
John C. Hitt
