Rehabilitation
The Department of Rehabilitation consists
of a multidisciplinary team that includes
physical therapists, occupational therapists,
speech language pathologists, and
certified athletic trainers. We are pleased
to offer services at both the inpatient and
outpatient level.
Outpatient rehabilitation is located inside
of Meadows Wellness Center. The facility is
equipped with state of the art equipment
including an aquatic rehabilitation pool.
The team of therapists treat patients that
range in age from the pediatric to geriatric
population and provide treatment services
for a variety of diagnoses. All patients
must have a physician’s referral in order
to participate in therapy. Each patient
is evaluated on an individual basis and a
specific treatment plan is created. Our goal
is to help our patients return to a higher
functioning capacity.

Cardiopulmonary
Services
Meadows Regional Medical Center’s
Cardiopulmonary Services Department
provides services in the areas of respiratory
therapy, and cardiac and pulmonary
diagnostics. These services are provided
to diagnose, treat, and educate patients
regarding lung and heart disorders. The staff
includes registered respiratory therapists
and certified respiratory therapists.
Education provided by your respiratory
therapist includes respiratory breathing
disorder literature, heart disease, asthma,
COPD, deep breathing and coughing
techniques, pneumonia and inhaler usage.
Cardiac Catheterization
Cardiovascular care has taken major leaps
forward in recent months, and the new
Meadows Regional Medical Center propels
it even further.
One of our major advancements is
that Meadows Regional Medical Center
now performs angioplasty which not
only enables us to diagnose but also treat
heart disease. This advancement can save
heart attack victims valuable time which
will help to prevent damage to the heart.
In addition, Meadows Regional treats
peripheral vascular and venous diseases,
which affects blood flow to the brain, legs,
and kidneys.
Meadows Regional is the only area
hospital with the most up-to-date
approach to cardiac catheterizations by
using radial angiography. This approach
is usually more comfortable for patients,
has a shorter hospital stay and fewer
complications. After a traditional
catheterization, patients must lie flat for
up to four hours. If the radial approach
is used, patients are usually able to move
immediately following the procedure.
Our Cardiovascular Lab has a ceilingmounted
Seimens Artis system which
is 100% integrated with the ultrasound
system which provides images from inside
a blocked vessel. The ultrasound cable is
passed through the inside of a blockage to
provide a more precise measurement for
optimal treatment. The system also has
advanced software that digitally enhances
the circulatory system to give physicians
a more precise view in the event of a
blockage.
Telemedicine
We are able to expand our specialty care
services through telemedicine support,
using the latest technology to virtually
bring medical providers to our patients.
