The fourth step will be a tacking stitch for the extra layers of
batting. This will create the puffy elements in the trapunto design.

Once trimmed, your trapunto elements will rise above the base
layer of your block.

Run the next machine step, which is a tacking stitch for the
base fabric.
Trim away the 2 additional pieces of batting from around the
trapunto tacking stitches.
It may be easier to trim the additional batting one layer at a time.
Next, place your base fabric. Be sure to cover the squaring stitch
on all sides, including enough fabric for your 1/2” seam allowance.
Continue with the embroidery details, stopping once the microstippling
is complete.
