Cut the design along the pencil marks using a straight edge ruler
and rotary cutter.

Apply tacky glue to the fabric inside of the marked rectangle and
spread evenly with a sponge brush. Apply the fabric to the lid,
lining up the traced outline with the lid’s top.
Once the fabric has been fixed to the top of the lid, use scissors
to cut out 90 degree angles out of the corners of the fabric, about
1 1/2” x 1 1/2”. This will prevent any bunching in the corners when the
fabric gets wrapped.
Q R
Apply tacky glue to a long edge, then
fold the fabric over the lip of the lid, pressing
securely. NOTE: When the lid is positioned on the fabric, the lid
corners do not touch where the square cuts were made.
Position the lid to be centered. Trace the edges where the box
meets the fabric to indicate where to glue the top of the lid to the
design. NOTE: All edges extending past the box will need to be
wrapped around the lid, so ensure they are not cut too short!
Next, take the fabric on the short end of the lid and wrap it around
the edge, folding the raw edge of the cut corner by 1/4” to create
a clean fold crease along the corner of the lid. Secure to the
underside with tacky glue.
