NO SHOW MESH | Quilter’s Best Friend
No Show Mesh is a tightly woven, often synthetic, material meant to be
used in both hand and machine embroidery. We use it in every quilting
and quilted bag collection, we create because of its durability and
versatility. If you never want your stabilizer to leave your project, choose
no show mesh because it will not budge without a nice pair of sharp
scissors.
TEAR AWAY | In the Hoop Masters
Tear Away is a papery sometimes cotton blended material that varies in
levels of durability from light to heavy. The heavier the weight of the tear
away, the closer it resembles craft wrapping paper. It’s perfect in cases
where you have a project that is ready to use right out of the hoop. In most
cases, our zippered bags and standard embroidery projects all call for tear
away because it’s sturdy but easy to remove once the project is complete.
WASH AWAY | Free Standing Ovation
Wash Away is very similar in appearance and structure to No Show Mesh,
except that under hot water, it completely melts away. We use it in every
free standing lace project, including cutwork, and often for tea towels and
patches.
STICKY BACK | Hold it Right There!
Sticky back comes in a lot of forms, but most commonly resembles a
paper sticker, that incorporates a lightly woven tear away stabilizer. By
scoring the surface of the Sticky Back while in the hoop, it will reveal
the sticky stabilizer underneath, which will allow you to place projects
directly on top of the stabilizer without a need to hoop the entire piece
of fabric. Sticky Back is also great for projects that need to be centered
on a pre-cut piece of fabric, like a shirt, or pocket.
