FINISHING YOUR DOLL
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Now we will stuff the head. Start by firmly packing the neck
with Polyfil using the opening in the top of the head.
FF
When the neck is complete, temporarily place a pin to
prevent the stuffing from coming out (as pictured). When you
are ready to fill the next space in the head, remove the pin
and continue. NOTE: If your doll has pigtails like ours, stuff
the pigtails, followed by the remaining spaces.
GG HH
You can add an OPTIONAL small dowel to the interior of the
head and neck to provide a more stable head, using spray
adhesive to provide tackiness and prevent sliding.
DISCLAIMER: If your doll is being given to a small child, a
rounded Popsicle stick may be better, or opt for no support.
If opting for the extra support stick, spray the dowel or
popsicle stick with spray adhesive, and slip into the middle of
the Polyfil in the head and press the stick down into the neck
so no sharp ends are near the top seam.
II JJ
Begin to close the opening in the head with a whip stitch,
stitching loosely and pulling the stitches taut as you go to
closing the seam.
Your stuffed doll is now finished.
