Seasonal Napkin Rings & Lace Borders | Projects Collection | 96
X
Your seasonal napkin ring is now finished and
ready to be put to use! Wrap back the two
ends and fasten with the button.
Read on to see step-by-step how to create
the coordinating lace borders to sew onto
your napkins.
Remove the design from the hoop and pull
out the basting stitch. Then carefully insert a
seam ripper between the two rows of satin stitching in the button
hole and slice through the base fabric. This will open the button
hole to become functionable.
Using a universal sewing needle and either matching or monofilament
thread, sew on a button of your choice to the other end
of the napkin ring over the button marking stitch.
Find the open seam of the napkin ring. Using a whip stitch, close
the open seam with matching or mono-filament thread.
Your napkin ring will look like this once the button is attached and
the seam has been sewn shut.
