When building your own block, it’s important to ask yourself a
few questions before stitching it out: Do the colors compliment
the rest of the quilt? Do the colors work well together within
the quilt block? Does each element of the block showcase the
same season?
Though we chose white for a background, think of ways to
incorporate color in the background, while muting the colors
for the isolated design and frame to see what combinations
you can make.
The best part about building
your own quilt block, you can
add frames and center designs
from different collections. As
long as the block size is the
same, the designs will work
well together!

The center design is by far the most versatile
element to building your own block. Center
designs can incorporate lots of different
techniques and colors.
FINISHED MERGED BLOCK
The finished merged block will incorporate
two or more design elements to create a
completely unique quilt.
