The chart below will assist you in planning out fabric amounts
for your Heirloom Seasons quilt. Based on the block size you
choose to stitch, the first measurement will indicate the size
you will need to pre-cut your fabric. This size will provide
enough fabric to cover the entire quilt block plus a seam
allowance. The second number determines the amount of
cuts you will get from one yard of fabric (45” x 36”). These
number can also be calculated using a quilting calculator.
*Folded fabric blocks use 2 ½” strips from a jelly roll.
If you wish to make your own jelly roll strips cut 2 ½”
wide stripes from the length of the fabric. You should
get approximately 14 strips per yard. Each folded
fabric block is different and may require a different
number of strips.
