INSTRUCTIONS
A B
To begin constructing your pillow, lay out the blocks you have
stitched in the desired pattern. We will be creating Pillow 1 using
both blocks designs, AEMQLT1A and AEMQLT2A.
Start by placing the upper left corner block face down over the
second block, pinning the first and second blocks together
along the stitch lines.
C D
Join the blocks in your sewing machine, sewing just inside the
tacking stitch and being sure to leave a 1⁄2” seam allowance on all
sides.
Use a steam iron to butterfly press your seams open. This will
ensure there is no bulk in your seams.

Line It Up
Be patient and careful when lining up your
blocks! When you arrive at a block with
the folded fabric splits, sew directly on the
tack down line to ensure the points will
match up correctly.
Pro Tip: You can use a basting stitch to
join your blocks, open them up, and check
for accuracy before straight stitching the
blocks together.
E
Line up the tacking stitches for the blocks, being sure the folded fabric points align as
needed.
