Next, place the first appliqué fabric on top of the placement
stitch. Be sure to include a 1/2” seam allowance outside of
the batting.
The next machine step is the tacking stitch for the appliqué.
Use embroidery scissors to trim the excess fabric within the
batting square.
TIP: Use a matching thread for each appliqué tackdown.
Once trimmed, the block will look something like this. Repeat steps D through F to complete the remaining crazy quilt
appliqué pieces.
TIP: Don’t forget to leave at least 1/2” seam allowance on all 4 sides.
