Once sewn together, your block should look something like this.
Then align the short sides of the block, pinning them in place if
needed. This will create the pin cushion’s triangle shape.
The unique shape of this pin cushion is a great use
for an extra rectangular or sashing block, and gives
a modern feel to a sewing staple. It’s sew easy to
stitch this project!
Sew the sides of the block together, again stitching along the
seams.
Once all sides are sewn together, turn the pin cushion right side
out through the opening left in step 3.
Your turned pin cushion should look something like this, and it is
now ready to be stuffed.
Fill the cushion with your choice of materials. We used polyfill for
this project, but you can use any combination of polybeads, sand,
stuffing, or even steel wool to keep your pins and needles sharp.
Finally, stitch the opening closed and your pin cushion is
complete!
