INTRODUCTION
This Learn To collection teaches step by
step directions for our reverse trapunto
technique - all while creating whimsical
snow-globes right in the hoop. Reverse
Trapunto is a special technique where
instead of adding additional layers of batting
on the front of the design, we add batting to
the back of the design. When it's completed
in two separate hoopings, you can create
amazing raised appliqué designs for a
3D effect.
For these designs we used reverse trapunto to
make each design pop with adorable texture and
details. This is done with 2 layers of batting added
to the back of the hoop.
The designs in this collection are completed in
two hoopings. In the first hooping, or design "a",
the appliqué and embroidery are stitched and the
batting tacked. In the second hooping, or design
"b" the reverse trapunto from the first hooping is
attached to the project.
Trapunto's 3D effect is the perfect way to
showcase each adorable snow-globe.
