Once trimmed, your bag should look something like this.

Trim 3/8” from the tackdown stitch on both long edges of the bag.

Prepare the snap tape by cutting a metal tape measure to 1 1/4”
less than the width of the bag sections.
Cut two 5/8” x 2” strips for the strap loops. You will also need two
D rings.
Measure 3/8” from the tackdown stitch along the long edges of
the bag, as indicated by the line above.
Once both parts of the bag are trimmed, they are ready to be
sewn together
Mark your fold line 1” from the unfinished flap edge and 5/8” in
from the sides as shown. This will help to bring the tackdown
stitch inward so it does not show in the final product.
