Step-by-Step
A B
Begin by hooping two pieces of Wash Away stabilizer to fit
your hoop. The first few steps will be completed using a regular
embroidery needle and thread. Run the first machine step, which
will be the placement stitch for the base fabric.
C D
Run the next machine step, which will be the tacking stitch for the
base fabric. Be sure to use thread that matches your base fabric
for this step. Do not trim your base fabric.
E F
Remove the embroidery needle and thread, then load the
cutwork needle into the machine.
We used the Inspira red #1 cutwork needle, as shown here.
Place the base fabric face up, covering the entirety of the
placement stitches. Be sure to leave 1⁄2” seam allowance on
all sides.
Continue to the next machine step, which will be a marking stitch
for the cutwork. This step gives the base fabric extra stability.
If you are not using a cutwork needle, skip to step G.
Make sure the machine’s thread break sensor is turned off before
using the cutwork needle.
