D I Y A N I TA
To start, wrap the warp around the inner hoop and use tape to hold the ends in place. Place the top hoop and use the screw to secure
the warp strings in place. To create a plain weave, use a yarn or tapestry needle to pull the yarn through alternating weft strings. On the
returning pass, alternate the opposite weft strings. As you make your way down the warp with the yarn, you will be creating the “weft!”
You can shift the weft as needed, but the warp should remain stationary.
Creating a swatch like the one pictured, is a great way to practice and to see how different weft materials work with different warp
materials. When your done weaving, simply tuck in the ends by weaving them back into the warp, until they’re all tucked in.
