Next, we need to add back fabric. Spray your skirt with 505, then
lay your back fabric over your skirt and pin in place. If you are
using a printed fabric, make sure the print is facing out. Be sure to
eave at least 1” of excess back fabric all the way around.

After it is completely secure, trim your excess back fabric so there
is only 1⁄2” seam allowance.

Join the strips, as shown. Pin in place if necessary.
Stitch in the ditch using clear or matching thread to secure the
back fabric to your skirt.
To cut your binding, cut along the true bias of your fabric using the 45° angle
on your quilter’s ruler. A half yard of fabric will be enough. You will need to
cut multiple strips, but cut as long of a continuous piece of bias as possible.
You’re going to need about 220“ of binding strips.
Sew the strips together, leaving 1⁄2” seam allowance.
