Place the first piece of appliqué face up on top of the placement
stitch. Include a 1⁄2” seam allowance outside the quilt block area.
NOTE: We suggest using fusible interfacing like Pellon 101 for
all appliqué fabric.
The next machine step is the tacking stitch, which will hold the
appliqué in place. Trim the excess fabric up to the tacking stitch,
but leave 1⁄2” seam allowance outside the quilt block area.

Once trimmed, your block will look something like this. Repeat
steps F through H to complete any remaining appliqué steps.
Follow the numbered machine steps to complete the decorative
embroidery steps.
Once all of the decorative embroidery steps are complete, the
block will look like this.

Remove the block from the hoop and us a ruler and rotary cutter
to trim away the excess fabric and stabilizer.
The block is now complete and ready for piecing.
