Use 505 spray to hold the organza in place as you arrange
the small pieces. The smaller organza pieces do not have to
completely cover the placement stitch, but the larger pieces must
completely cover the placement stitch, as they hold the smaller
pieces in place.

The next machine step is the tacking stitch for the watercolor
confetti appliqué. Trim away the excess organza, but leave 1/8”
raw edge beyond the tacking stitch to achieve the
watercolor effect.

Once all decorative embroidery steps are complete, run the
placement stitch for secondary fabric 1, as indicated here.
For stylistic reasons, we chose to add an additional layer of white
organza to mute the bright organza colors underneath. Place
the organza on top of the placement stitch, being sure that it is
completely covered.
Repeat steps H through L to complete any remaining appliqué
steps. Follow the numbered machine steps to complete the
decorative embroidery up to the placement stitch for the first
folded fabric border.
Place a piece of fabric face down on top of the placement stitch,
as shown.
