WIth your batting trimmed, continue to the next machine step,
which will be a placement stitch for the base fabric.

Run the tacking stitch for the base fabric.

Now, following your design’s numbered machine steps, run the
decorative embroidery steps until you reach the first placement
stitch for a border fabric.
Take a piece of base fabric and lay it right side up over the
placement stitches, being sure to cover them on all sides.
Since these labels will have folded fabric borders to create their
seam allowance, you can use scissors to trim away the excess
base fabric from the tacking stitch.
Take a piece of border fabric and place it right side down with
the raw edge aligned to the trimmed edge of the base fabric, as
shown. Then, run the folding stitch for the border fabric (solid line).
