Begin by loading the bottom block file, MMZD13A. Then hoop a
piece of No Show Mesh stabilizer, and run the first machine step
which will be the placement stitch for the stiffener.
Use scissors to trim away any excess stiffener from outside the
tacking stitches.
Place the stiffener over the placement stitch, covering the entirety
of the stitches. Then run the next machine step, which will be the
tacking stitch for the stiffener.
Place the base fabric over the stiffener, making sure to leave 1⁄2”
seam allowance on all sides of the block.
Continue on to the next machine step, which will be the tacking
stitch as highlighted here. Then continue to the next machine step
which will be the crosshatch pattern.
Use a rotary cutter and ruler to trim away any excess fabric and
stabilizer, leaving 1⁄2” seam allowance on all sides. Repeat steps 1 -
6 until you have a total of 3 bottom blocks.
