Secure the backing to the quilt top by stitching in the ditch of the
blocks with a clear or matching thread.
To further ensure there is no shifting, sew along the perimeter of
your quilt, stitching directly on top of the existing tacking stitches.

Looking at the quilt top, use a pencil and a ruler to trace out a
1/2” seam allowance all the way around your quilt directly onto
the back fabric.
To trim down the excess back fabric, start by using scissors or
sheers to cut straight into the corners where the scallops meet,
stopping the cut at the seam allowance.

Now, use a rotary cutter to trim down the remaining excess back
fabric, following the 1/2” seam allowance you left on the quilt top.
Using scissors or sheers, clip into the interior corners, being sure
to stop just before the tacking stitch.
