S T
Use your steam iron to press the seam open.
Repeat until all 3 strips have been joined together.
U V
Begin to sew the binding to the quilt top, using a 1/2”
seam allowance, STOPPING once you are about 1/2” from
the first corner.
W X
Fold the binding back on itself, perpendicular to the seam you
have just stitched.
Starting on a seam line, place your binding along the edge with
the raw edges of the quilt top and the binding placed right sides
together. Fold the starting edge back to make a triangle, creating
a finished start and stop point. Pin together to prevent shifting.
Now, continue to sew at a 45 degree angle to the edge of the
binding (shown in black). Remove the quilt from your machine.
Fold the binding again. This time, align the fold in the binding
with the raw edges of the seam you just sewed and align the raw
edges of the un-stitched binding with the next edge of the quilt.
Pin in place.
