Creating your first quilt, or even your fiftieth, can be a daunting task! To help make things a bit easier to
digest, we are providing some layout inspiration for you to help plan your next quilting endeavor. It is
important to note that the complexity of the layouts will increase as you read on, so be sure to take the time
to slow down, count your quantities, and make sure everything will line up as planned.
Below is an example of a simple quilt layout featuring 8x8 main blocks and a 2” sashing throughout. In order
to balance the quilt and carry its seam lines neatly, the 8” square border and 2” border blocks will match up
for a perfect fit. Also, remember that you can adjust the corner blocks in any diagram to be the scallop or
square corner as you like.
