Now, take a piece of base fabric and place it right side up
over the batting. Be sure to have enough fabric for a 1/2” seam
allowance on all sides.
Proceed to run the tacking stitch for the base fabric in a matching
thread color.

When the block is complete, remove it from the hoop. Using
a rotary cutter and ruler, trim the design down to 1/2” seam
allowance on all sides.
Continue to run the decorative quilting stitches in a
complementary thread color.
TIP: You don’t want the quilting stitches to blend in, but
you also won’t want a wildly different color. Try selecting a
variation of the base fabric color!
