Once trimmed, it’s time to align your fussy cut fabric.
Open the fabric onto the batting, making sure that you
have the corners aligned to your liking with at least 1⁄2”
seam allowance on all sides. Run the tacking stitch to
hold it in place.
Remove the block from the hoop and use a rotary cutter
and ruler to trim away the excess fabric and stabilizer.
Remember to leave at least 1⁄2” seam allowance.
For this design, use the bottom point as a reference
point. Fold the fabric in half, faces together, then align
the bottom point of the block with the bottom point of
the fabric.
The final machine step is the decorative embroidery.
The block is now complete.
Now that the first block is complete, use it as a
reference for all remaining blocks to create your
fractal masterpiece.
