PREPARING THE DESIGN
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
A B
Hoop a piece of Sticky Back Stabilizer, to fit your hoop.
Cut the face fabric to your preferred size, using the
measurement chart provided. For this tutorial, we created the
largest pillow size, so our face fabric is 25” x 25.”
Note: if you are using jersey fabric, we recommend adding
a fusible interfacing such as Pellon ShapeFlex SF101. This
gives extra stability for embroidering.
C D
Using a seam ripper, score the top of the stabilizer in the
shape of an X so that you can peel away the stabilizer’s
protective covering.
Once the covering is removed, your hoop should look
something like this, with the stabilizer’s sticky surface
exposed.
E F
Using a ruler, find the centerpoint of your hoop. Mark the
vertical and horizontal centers. This will allow you to easily
center your design within the hoop.
Fold your face fabric into fourths, and place the folded fabric
in one quadrant of the hoop as shown.
