G. Continue to run any
remaining decorative
embroidery. When the
design is complete, you can
remove it from the hoop.
C. Using spray adhesive, place
the base fabric right side
up over the stitches, being
sure to have enough fabric
for a 1 ½" seam allowance.
I. Your Embroidered
Background is now
finished.
A. To begin, hoop two pieces
of no show mesh stabilizer
and load the embroidered
background of choice.
D. Smooth your base material
over the placement stitches,
gently securing it to the
spray-adhesived stabilizer.
E. With the base fabric in
place, proceed to run
the tacking stitches in a
matching thread color.
Do not trim the excess fabric.
F. Begin running the design's
decorative embroidery
steps, following the
numbered machine steps
for indicated color changes.
B. Run the first step in the
design, which will be a
placement stitch indicating
where to place the base
material.
H. Using a rotary cutter
and ruler, trim the excess
stabilizer and base fabric to
a 1 ½" seam allowance on
all sides.
You can use these embroidered background designs on their own, or choose to add dimensional elements
mentioned later in the series, such as paper cut shapes, lace flowers, or the embroidered butterflies.
