G. Lay a strip of fabric over
the placement stitches,
right side facing up, being
sure to leave a 1½"
extending past the batting.
J. Once trimmed, the first
piece of fabric should look
something like this.
K. Now, run the next step,
which will be a placement
stitch indicating the space
for the first piece of folded
fabric.
I. Using scissors, trim away
any excess fabric from
within the batting, leaving
1½" of fabric on any sides
extending past the block.
L. Take a strip of fabric, right
side facing down, with the
raw edge positioned about
¼" past the edge of the last
fabric tacked down
H. Proceed to run the tacking
stitch for the standard
appliqué strip in a
coordinating thread color.
