Using a Printed Background
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
In order to use these printed backgrounds as a base for your other elements, you will first
have to print off the chosen PDF, located in the Printed Background PDF's folder. The
larger 9.75" x 9.75" size as well as the poster options will require a Tabloid size home
printer or taking the PDF files to a local print shop or office supply store to create the
appropriately sized print offs on high quality paper or card stock. If you choose to print
the 7.75" x 7.75" size at home, be sure your printer settings are set to 100% scale for the
image to come out full sized.
Just as with the Photography section in this series, each of the Printed Backgrounds will
offer a poster sized version of the images grouped into larger files, with the same options of
18" x 24" as well as 24" x 36" in all the color variations offered, allowing you to bring one
file to your local print shop for processing multiple Printed Backgrounds at once.
Once your desired backgrounds have been printed, you will notice they each feature red
lines surrounding the images, indicating where to trim for finishing. Simply use a rotary
cutter and ruler for a clean edge. Use your printed background with any of the three
dimensional designs, like silhouettes or butterflies, by affixing them onto the background
of choice with hot glue or another photo-safe adhesive. You may also want to stitch a Toile
design straight onto a printed background for some added interest. All Toile designs offer
a placement and tack down step that you can use to secure the printed background to the
tear away stabilizer.
