TYPES OF THREAD
Texture can really change the appeal of a particular piece of artwork. Just as with the chosen paints or
varnishes in a work, the type of threads you choose to embroider with can change up the finished look
entirely. Wilson's most notable favorite thread as of late has been the wool Burmilana thread created
by Madeira. Their thicker, woolen texture creates stunning, textural pieces, but also requires a larger
needle eye to compensate for thread thickness, so be sure to adjust your needles accordingly.
Other threads, like metallics or matte threads can create an all new look to the same design. If you
traditionally stitch in only polyester threads, use this series to break the norms and try one of the
following variations.
