J. Once the butterflies are
glued in place, flip the
finished piece over and
carefully place it within the
shadowbox frame.
K. Add the back framing cover
over the design and secure in
place with the hardware or
included prongs, depending
on your frame's closure style.
L. You will notice in this shot
that, when added into a
1" deep shadowbox frame,
the foam core mounted
embroidery seems to "float"
within the frame, giving it a
more artistic finish.
M. For mounting in a deeper
acrylic frame, the embroidery
will get mounted to the mat
board and glued directly to
the back of the acrylic frame.
Each acrylic frame is different,
so this technique may need to
be adapted to each frame.
N. Add the dimensional elements
in the same manner, applying
a bead of hot glue along the
body of the butterflies.
O. Add the butterflies as before,
however, with a deeper frame
like the 2" deep acrylic one
shown here, these elements
can be further "fluffed," so
that the butterfly wings stick
up further.
P. This photo illustrates the
final effect of the more 3D
mounted butterflies. The
wings extend higher up with
this option, creating a very
dimensional piece of art.
Q. To finish, simply add the
acrylic frame to the backboard.
R. Your finished piece is
now framed and ready for
presentation. No matter what
frame you choose, you will
wind up with a beautifully
finished piece of original art.
