step-by-step INSTRUCTIONS

The first part of creating these sparkly, water-safe snowflakes is to
stitch the Snowy Confetti Quilt block of your choice, following the
tutorial’s steps until you reach the step for placing the snowflakes
and organza layer. NOTE: This would be step L in Snowy
Confetti Quilt’s picture step-by-step tutorial.

Next, use a piece of scrap paper or card stock to lay out your
snowflakes. Giving them a spritz of spray adhesive will protect
your block from unnecessary spray glue as well as keep only the
snowflakes slightly tacky for easier positioning!
Now, take your snowflake punches and one of the iridescent
or opal-colored Shimmer Sheetz and punch out a variety of
snowflake shapes. We chose to use the large and small sizes,
but don’t be afraid to try all three for a fun combination. TIP: It
can help save time (and Shimmer Sheetz) to cut strips of the
sheets to hole punch to make your snowflakes!
Use tweezers to pick up the snowflakes off the scrap paper and
place them across the block where you like. Remember, it’s okay
to place them across different appliqués and inside of animal
shapes or scenery!
