Take a piece of appliqué fabric and lay it face side up Proceed to run the tacking stitch step.
over the placement stitches. You will need to ensure your
appliqué is large enough to cover the placement stitch
space along with a 1⁄2" extra extending outside the block as
your seam allowance.

Using scissors, trim away any excess fabric from the tacking
stitch line, being sure to leave the 1⁄2" needed for seam
allowance anywhere extending outside the block.
Once trimmed, your first appliqué will look something like
this.

Repeat steps F - J for the remaining standard appliqués in
the design.
Now, proceed to the satin stitch details to finish off the block.
NOTE: Some blocks may have satin stitch details between
appliqué steps depending on its position in the scene.
