G H
Use a rotary cutter and ruler to trim the felt along the bottom
of the design section, still leaving a 1⁄4” seam. This will create
the 2 side panels of your bag.
I J
Repeat steps G - H, cutting through only 1 layer of the
remaining felt, in order to create the bottom panel of the bag.
Use pins on each end of the bottom piece you cut to indicate
the orientation.
K L
Pin the bottom panel you just created to the front and back
design sections, as shown above. Use pins to secure the
pieces together just inside of the tacking stitch lines.
In order to easily identify the top edges of the side panels
you just made, put a pin at the top edge of each cut of felt.
Once your pieces have been cut and marked with the pins,
it should look something like this. You are now ready to
assemble your gift bag.
Transfer the project to your sewing machine. Starting and
stopping at the corner, sew along the tack down stitches,
careful not to go to the edge of the fabric.
