Once trimmed, your batting should look like this.
Using scissors, trim away the excess batting from the tacking
stitch line.

Now, take a piece of base fabric and place it right side facing
up over the block, being sure to have enough fabric for a 1⁄2”
seam allowance on all sides.
Proceed to run the tacking stitch for the base fabric.
NOTE: We outlined our stitch in black, but with lighter
fabrics, you’ll want to match your thread to prevent it from
being too obvious when you join blocks into a quilt!
