A HORSE IN YOUR HAND. Couldn’t get enough of crafting
a Dala Horse out of fabric and stitches? Follow this fun DIY tutorial to
create a field of horses out of polymer clay such as Sculpey or Fimo
found at your local craft store! While you’re shopping, grab some fun
stamps that catch your eye to decorate your horses and some twine
or string if you don’t already have them in your craft room! You’ll use a
PDF template that we’ve included with this tutorial to cut out the shape
of the horse into the clay! Then you can decorate your horse however
you want!
HEATIN’ UP. Once your horse is prepped and pretty, it’s time to
bake the clay. Just follow the baking instructions for your brand of
polymer clay to harden the clay and make the horses more durable.
STRING IT UP. The amount of horses you will need to make will
depend on the length of garland that you want. For ours, we made 7
horses for a garland about 4 feet long. If you make more horses than
you need for your garland, you can always just tie a string to them
and use them as ornaments as well!
EASY PEASY. You can
find the template needed
for this project on your All
Access CD! Simply print
the “Dala Horse Garland”
PDF at actual size (100%)
and cut along the lines!
