Run the tacking stitch to secure the cornerstone in place.

Your trimmed cornerstone should look something like this.

Then, place your border fabric right side down over the stitch
line that touches the edge of the base fabric, as shown above.
Be sure that the fabric overlaps the placement line by at
least ¼”.
Trim away the excess fabric close to the tacking stitch.
Remember to leave ½” seam allowance on
any edge that is touching stabilizer.
Next, run the placement stitch for your first folded fabric piece.
Run the folding stitch to secure the fabric to the quilt block.
