For our placemat, we decided to use two Background Quilt Block
designs from this collection. After adding a utensil pocket and ties,
we also show you how to create a vinyl backing for a super easy
clean-up. To accomplish this, we prepped the back fabric with
iron-on vinyl. Iron on vinyl is great because it can be adhered to
any cotton to create a waterproof material. By making one side of
our placemat waterproof, spills and stains will never penetrate the
adorable fabric that you choose to feature under the vinyl.
