THE MAGIC OF
MERGING
Simple stitches grace the blocks in Butterfly Simplicity Quilt,
while more bolder, satin stitched variations of these fluttering
friends appear in our Chrysalis collection as standard appliqué
designs. We wanted to teach you a fun way to take both of
these collections and combine them into one finished quilt.
Since Butterfly Simplicity Quilt creates standard quilt blocks
and sashing, you’ll only have to do the merging for the
appliqué designs in Chrysalis to turn them into blocks. This
month’s All Access includes 4 bonus files for you to merge
the appliqués onto: an 8” x 8” square quilt block, an 8” x 12”
rectangular quilt block, and folded fabric frames to fit both
options. Use the step-by-step instructions here for learning how
to merge in your machine, then get to stitching your new quilt!
To turn your merged appliqué designs into quilt blocks,
follow along with the step-by-step instructions on how to
combine the various parts in your embroidery machine.
Then, easily learn to join your blocks and finish off your
quilt with the handy guide included in our About Us PDF.
