Using scissors, trim away the excess batting from the tacking
stitch line.
Run the tacking stitch for your base fabric in a matching thread
color.
If you did NOT add a frame, do not trim and skip to step 29. If you
merged a folded fabric frame onto your block, trim the base fabric to
the tacking stitch line in order to allow for the folded fabric borders
we are about to add to become the 1⁄2” seam allowance.

Once your block’s batting is trimmed down, take a piece of
base fabric and place it right side facing up over the batting
block. You will need to ensure you have enough fabric for a 1⁄2”
seam allowance on all sides.
Now, run the first embroidery step in the block, which will be
the base stippling pattern. TIP: To prevent any clash with your
appliqué design, run this stippling step in a thread color that
matches the fabric!
With the seam allowance trimmed to prepare for borders, your
block should now look like this.
