Now, before continuing to the other folds, trim away the excess
tabs of fabric to the left and right of the folds. Removing this
excess fabric will ensure your machine’s foot does not get caught
on the fabric when running the next set of placement stitches.
Now, run the placement stitch for the next border piece.

Run the folding stitch for the fabric strip.
Once trimmed, your top and bottom borders should look like
this.
Take a strip of border fabric and place it right side facing down,
pulling the edge of the fabric strip about 1⁄4” past the inner line
of the placement stitch box, as shown.
Then, pull the fabric over the folding stitch line, giving it a
good finger crease. Proceed to run the tacking stitch for the
folded fabric border.
