For our book, the open width measures 12 1⁄2”. The front cover width is 6”. All of that plus an extra 1 1⁄4” for seam allowance
gives us 19 3⁄4” as our cut width. The height of our book is 8 1⁄2” plus the extra 1 1⁄4” for seam allowance gives us 9 3⁄4” as our
cut height. NOTE: If you need more clarification on how we got our dimensions, please review the “Measuring a Book”
page.

Given our specific book dimensions, our material measures
193⁄4” by 93⁄4”. Fold the material with right sides together,
being sure to keep the fold on the left.
Using a ruler and tailors chalk find the center of the design

should start by using the edge of the book as a guide rather
than the spine.
