Mark a vertical line along the height of the book cover fabric.
It should align with where your book edge will sit. In our case,
this should be 3” plus 1 1⁄4” (4 1⁄4”) from the edge of the fabric.
Once you have found the center, use the tailors chalk to
draw a second vertical line exactly half way between the fold
and the first vertical line.
Once you have found the center of the second vertical line,
draw a horizontal line across the middle.
Using a ruler, find the center of the design area between the
first line and the fold of the fabric.
Similarly, find the center of the second vertical line.
After all three lines are drawn indicating where the center
of the design should be, unfold your fabric to lay flat on the
table.
