Once trimmed, your block should look like this.
Use scissors to trim away any excess batting from the tacking
stitch line.

Now, take a piece of base fabric and place it right side facing
up over the design. TIP: We recommend backing your base
fabric with a fusible interfacing to help prevent any pulling
or puckering that naturally occurs with high stitch counts.
Run the tacking stitch step for the base fabric using a
matching thread color.
