Begin by laying out your quilt blocks in the desired
arrangement. See previous page for our chosen layout.
Use your sewing machine to attach the quilt blocks. Sew just
inside the tacking stitches, and remove any pins as you go.
NOTE: Use a matching or clear thread to ensure your
stitching remains invisible.
Once attached, butterfly the seams and press them flat using
an iron.
NOTE: If you use velvet like we did for the border, be sure
to use a presscloth to protect the fabric.
Now we will attach the rows in the same manner as we did
for the individual blocks.
Repeat steps 2 - 4 for each diagonal row until all are joined,
as you see here.
Now we are ready to begin attaching quilt blocks. We are
going to sew rows together diagonally due to the shape of
the quilt blocks. Lay the first two blocks face to face, and pin
edges together to secure.
