ANGE L IC ACCENT PI ECE A FRENCH INF LUENCE
Although the original toile was created as prints on
unbleached fabrics, we wanted to think of a fun way to
recreate the classic French look in an embroidered style that
would make a fun decorative accent.
Creating your own toile is easy with this month’s release of
the Cherub Toile Embroidery collection. Simply pick several
of the single thread color designs (CT6-20) in their smallest
size option, or a single design you want to repeat all over.
With your cherub designs chosen and a good base fabric,
you can easily stitch out the different cherubs across your
linen. If your embroidery machine features a projection
feature to preview your designs, you can easily preview your
placements before even starting the first stitch, making this
project even easier!
If you want to go a step further, choose a coordinating trim
or fun accenting ribbon to sew along the edge for a modern
twist on toile that’s sure to catch eyes.
With running stitch linework creating these precious cherubs, you can get away with trying
out a alternative thread type to give your designs a slightly different look or feel! For a more
traditnional look to your toile, try stitching your designs in a cotton embroidery thread rather
than your usual polyester or rayon.
Another alternative is to see how these look in a matte embroidery thread! Just remember the
weight of the matte thread will be different from standard embroidery thread, so always run a
practice test first!
