CREATING YOUR FABRIC
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
1 2
To create your toile fabric, start with a large, 22” x 22” cut of
fabric. We will start by finding and marking the middle of the
material. Fold the fabric in half horizontally to create a crease
across the middle.
Now, fold the fabric once more, going vertically this time,
to create a second crease. Locate the corner of the folded
fabric that has no raw edges and use two straight pins to
mark the corner location. This will be your center.
3 4
Unfold the fabric and ensure your pins did not shift. You
should have two creases intersecting where the pins meet in
the middle.
To hoop the fabric, we wanted to avoid sticky back with
delicate stitches like these, and instead opted for a cut away
No Show mesh stabilizer. Use the marks on your embroidery
hoop to help position the pins in your fabric in the center.
5 6
Once hooped, you can remove the two pins marking the
middle. If your machine offers a visual projection feature for
your merged designs, use this to ensure you are happy with
the placement of your two merged files.
Run the embroidery for the first two cherub designs. They will
look something like this once stitched.
