Run the next machine step. This will be a folding stitch that
will tack the left edge of the fabric in place.

Fold the fabric over the folding stitch, pulling taut and finger
creasing at the fold. Then, run the next step to tack the
folded fabric into place.
Next, using a pair of scissors, closely trim the excess fabric
away from the tacking stitch, being sure to leave a 1⁄2” seam
allowance on any of the outer edges of the block.
Lay the fabric, right-side down, pulling it about 1/8” past the
edge of the placement stitch that is touching the previous
appliqué, as shown.
