HOOPING #1 - STITCHING OUT THE COVER
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
A B
Run the first step of the design, which will be a placement
stitch for the base fabric. Take a piece of denim (or other
sturdy material, like canvas) and place it right side facing up
over the placement stitches. Be sure you have enough fabric
for a 1⁄2” seam allowance on all 4 sides.
C D
Run the tacking stitch in a matching thread color to secure
the base fabric in place. Do not trim.
Now, use your design’s numbered machine steps to follow
along with the indicated embroidery color changes.
E F
When the design’s embroidery has finished, you can remove
it from the hoop. Use a rotary cutter and ruler to trim the
design to a 1⁄2” seam allowance.
Your Modular Passport cover is now finished.
Set this aside and continue to the next set of step-by-step
directions to create the inside and combine it all together!
To begin, hoop a piece of No Show mesh stabilizer to fit your
hoop, and load the cover design you want for your wallet.
For this example, we will be stitching MPWCOVER4.
